The BC Movement Arts Society is delighted to present five of BC’s top commercial dance artists in an evening showcasing their skillful versatility in Hip Hop, Tap, and Contemporary Jazz.

Zachary, Jenna, Kiara, Julien and Shane  invites the audience on a dance filled fun gathering of five friends!

SHANE SIMPSON was born in Thornhill Ontario and began his professional journey at the age of 12, portraying Young Simba in the Mirvish Production of“Disney’s The Lion King”. In 2008 & 2009 he was announced as one of the “Who’s Who Among Students inAmerican Universities & Colleges”. After returning back home to Canada Mr.Simpson landed a spot on CTV’s hit show So You Think You Can Dance Canada Season 4, where he placed in the Top 3 Male dancers. Mr. Simpson has been honored to work with many renowned EMMY & TONY Awarded and Nominated Creative Directors andChoreographers such as Kenny Ortega, Christopher Gattelli, Sergio Trujilo, MandyMoore, Luther Brown, Jamal Sims, Travis Wall, Sean Cheesman just to name a few.  You can spot him in several Music Videos,Commercials, Television Shows including HAIRSPRAY starring John Travolta and Queen Latifah, Disney’s ZOMBIES & Disney’s DESCENDANTS,Fox network’s remake of 1975 classic ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW and on ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST tv series, GREASE: RISE OF PINK LADIES and season two of the hit show SCHMIGADOON on Apple TV+.

Shane has performed live with Canadian and International recording artist;Justin Bieber, Jully Black, Serena Ryder, Victoria Duffield, Lady Gaga, Flo Rida, Arianna Grande, PSY, Aloe Black, the English recording artist James Blunt, and JanetJackson.

ZACHARY BURKE  began as a competitive dancer from the young age of 8 years old. From Bolton,Ontario, Zachary has competed throughout North America at prestigious dance competitions in all disciplines.

He started his professional dance career at an early age being a member of the Toronto Jr. Jays and Raptors Dance Pack. His dedication and hard work has earned him recognition and numerous awards.Zachary has been privileged to perform on stage, film, television, and commercials and is grateful to have worked with Emmy winning choreographers and award-winning directors.

Some of Zachary’s performance credits include CampRock 2: The Final Jam, Disney’s Descendants 3, Disney’s Zombies, The RockyHorror Picture show: Let’s do the time warp again, Zoey’s ExtraordinaryPlaylist and The Christmas Chronicles 2; and Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies.

His own vision, passion and hard work continue tohelp him grow as a dancer, performer and choreographer.

 

JULIEN NAUD was born and raised in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. Starting his training at the age of 4 in martial arts and dance, Julien grew up to achieve multiple national title in both art forms and become an extremely well-rounded physical mover. His skills are balanced with power and agility; and he effortlessly demonstrates style and technique due to his training in multiple dance styles.

Julien’s professional journey began in Vancouver where he trained at the city’s top facilities and quickly made a stamp in the community as one of the top performers. Julien has had the pleasure to work under the direction of many world-renowned choreographers and multiple multimillion dollar productions.

Selected Credits include Disney’s Descendants 2&3 and Freaky Friday; CW’s Riverdale; Netflix’s Julie and the Phantom;Paramount+’s  Mother Land and Honor Society; Disney’s Tron 3;CBS’ So Help Me Todd; and Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies in a recurring role as Arthur, and multiple indies and commercials.

He continues to train and build community, while staying true to his roots as a dancer.

 

JENNA HOMAN  is a Canadian based professional dancer, born and raised in Nanaimo B.C.training at the Kirkwood Academy and Prism Dance in ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, HipHop and more.  She is a proud alumni company member and Captain of the Vancouver based Source Dance Company, led under the direction of Joanne Pesusich, where she worked with renowned choreographers and casting directors from Vancouver, Los Angeles,Toronto, the UK, and more. She was also on the Competitive team TwoFourSeven with Director Christopher Bonus and Helen Dang and has been mentored by prominent figures in the industry such as Kim Gingras and Joe Tuliao.

Selected credits include: dancer on the Paramount Plus film “Honor Society”; lead role for Josh Bogert’s “Nice Guy” music Video; multiple experiences assisting and Co-Choreographing with Chirtsian Lagasse in the short films“Manifesto Of Surrealism” and “The Endless Potential”. Jenna has alove for the Cabaret  and has recently worked on “The Smoke Show” Directed and Choreographed by Jen Oleksiuk.

KIARA MCILRAVEY is a Canadian based dancer and actor born and raised in Red Deer, Alberta, training extensively in all styles including Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary,Musical Theatre, and Acrobatic, working with teachers Shelly Tookey, Kirsten Kowalchuk, Moe Brody and others, and at the Intensive Training Program at Harbour Dance and at the Joffrey Ballet School’s Commercial Dance Program in New York City.

Kiara’s well-rounded talent has opened the door to multiple professional opportunities including the principal role in a national ad campaign for Specsavers; performing as a dancer as well as a chorus performer in the CW’s Riverdale; solo dance artist in the music video “My Mind” for Outereach; back-up dancer in Victoria Raskin’s inaugural Vancouver concert; skeleton crew dancer for the “Set Me Free” music video for BTS; motion capture actor for a project with EA Games and many more. Kiara truly believes in sharing her love and knowledge of the dance industry and has assisted TripleThreat Dance Convention in all their touring cities across Canada.
